Merchant

Overview / Role​

The Merchant is the economic powerhouse of Ragnarok Online. Capable of buying low and selling high, opening shops via Vending, and pulling a cart full of loot, Merchants combine modest combat ability with unmatched zeny generation.

Requirements​

  • Base Level: None
  • Job Level: 10 as Novice
  • Prerequisite: Complete the Merchant job change quest in Alberta.

Advancement Path​

At Job Level 40-50, the Merchant can advance to:

  • Blacksmith - Weapon forger with strong physical output and cart skills.
  • Alchemist - Potion crafter with a Homunculus companion.

Job Level Cap: 50

Key Skills​

  • Discount: Reduces NPC purchase prices.
  • Overcharge: Increases NPC sale prices.
  • Vending: Open a personal shop using a cart.
  • Mammonite: Spend zeny for a powerful single-target hit.
  • Pushcart: Carry a cart for additional inventory and skill access.

Pump STR for Mammonite damage and carry weight, plus DEX for HIT. Even pure economy Merchants can level efficiently using Mammonite to delete tough mobs. Vending is the primary income source for many players.
