Skill Phases
Every skill execution goes through a 5-step process from activation to completion. Understanding these phases helps explain why certain interrupts, SP mechanics, and delays behave the way they do.
Phase 1: Skill Used
- Skill name appears above character's head
- SP costs are checked but not deducted yet
- Fails immediately if requirements not met
Phase 2: Cast Time
- Cast bar visible above character's head
- Character cannot move, attack, or use other skills
- Taking damage may interrupt casting
Phase 3: Skill Activation
- Skill name appears above character's head again
- SP cost is deducted
- Skill effect takes place
Phase 4: Cast Delay
- No visible indication
- Character can move and attack
- Cannot use other skills until delay ends
Phase 5: Skill Use Complete
- No visible indication
- Ready for next action
