Mage

Overview / Role

The Mage is a magical damage dealer that uses elemental Bolt spells to obliterate monsters from a safe distance. Low HP and defense are offset by exceptional ranged AoE potential.

Requirements

  • Base Level: None
  • Job Level: 10 as Novice
  • Prerequisite: Complete the Mage job change quest in Geffen.

Advancement Path

At Job Level 40-50, the Mage can advance to:

  • Wizard - Pure magical destruction with massive AoE skills.
  • Sage - Magical utility, endows, and battle support.

Job Level Cap: 50

Key Skills

  • Fire Bolt / Cold Bolt / Lightning Bolt: Elemental single-target damage scaling per skill level.
  • Soul Strike: Ghost-element damage, excellent vs Undead.
  • Napalm Beat: Splash AoE neutral damage.
  • Stone Curse: Petrify chance, removes target from combat.
  • Increase SP Recovery: Improves SP regen for sustained casting.

Stack INT for damage and DEX for cast time reduction. Use double-Bolt builds (Cold Bolt + Frost Diver, or Fire Bolt + Fire Wall) on weak monsters. Train against elementally weak mobs like Pickys (Fire weak), Mukas, or Wolves.
