Zeny from Mobs

No coin pouches. No zeny bags. No chest gold. Every single zeny in the RagnaRMT economy comes from one source — the mob you just killed — calculated by (level + random) × damage_share × bonus. Kill counts. Farming pays. Loot doesn't.

Zeny Comes ONLY from Mob Kills

No item drop in RagnaRMT provides zeny. You will never loot a coin pouch, find a zeny bag, or get currency from a chest. The only source of zeny in the game is the formula below — kill a mob, earn its scaled zeny payout.

This design choice keeps the economy controlled, predictable, and tied directly to player activity.

Drop Formula

The zeny amount is calculated at the moment the mob dies, using the rAthena source formula in mob_dead():

zeny = (mob_level + random(0..mob_level-1)) × per × bonus / 100

Variables

MVP Bonus

If the kill is an MVP boss, the result is further multiplied by a random roll from 0 to 249:

zeny *= random(0..249)

This creates a wide payout range — MVPs can drop anywhere from 0 zeny to a jackpot.

MVP Volatility

The MVP multiplier can roll 0, in which case the MVP drops no zeny at all. Yes, after a 30-minute fight. Yes, it has happened to better players than you. Many kills produce a strong payout — but never count on a guaranteed amount from any single MVP.

Damage Share Matters

The per factor scales the payout by your contribution to the kill. If you dealt only 50% of the total damage, you receive 50% of the calculated zeny — the rest distributes to other contributors.

Solo Kills Always Pay Full

Solo farming maximizes zeny per mob. Shared kills divide proportionally — useful in parties for tougher targets, but not the most efficient income loop.

Bonus Multiplier Sources

The bonus term in the formula starts at 100 (= 1×) and can be increased by:

  • Class-specific zeny gain skills and passives
  • Server events with temporary zeny rate boosts

Stacking these multipliers compounds your zeny income from every kill.

Why This Matters

  • No grinding for currency — your leveling time produces zeny passively
  • Higher-level zones pay more — incentivizes pushing into harder maps
  • MVP hunting becomes lucrative — but with real variance
  • Synergizes with Play-to-Earn — zeny is the bridge to crypto withdrawals
  • Solo-friendly — no need to coordinate just for income
